Ifeyinwa Oguagha serves as the General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer of X Machina Capital Strategies. In this capacity, she handles all legal matters for the firm and leads all of its compliance efforts.
Ifeyinwa most recently served as Investment Counsel at the New York State Common Retirement Fund. During her tenure, she negotiated the terms of the pension fund’s investment in a myriad of private equity structured funds (including traditional private equity, infrastructure, and real estate opportunity funds), hedge funds, and the engagement of numerous investment managers for the fund's public equities portfolio pursuant to IMAs. She served in such capacity for over a decade.
Prior to joining the public pension plan, Ifeyinwa worked as a corporate associate with a focus on private market M&A for various law firms in New York City. Earlier in her career, she clerked for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
Ifeyinwa earned her BA in Political Science from Columbia College at Columbia University where she was a Peter I.B. Lavan Scholar. Ifeyinwa earned her JD from Columbia University School of Law. She is admitted to the New York State Bar.
